The Association of Computing Professionals, Kenya, brings together computing professionals, practitioners, educators, and researchers, to inspire dialogue, share resources, and address the challenges in the computing sphere. ACPK seeks to be the largest computing society that will strengthen the collective computing profession’s voice through strong, able leadership, promotion of the highest computing standards, and recognition of technical excellence. We support the professional growth of our members by providing opportunities for skills and knowledge acquisition, career development, and professional networking.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION

  1. Establish a National Board of Computing Practitioners (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Board’) as the overarching body with representation from other industry players and the National Council to govern the Association.
  2. Provide framework to set and assess practitioner examinations & merit for practicing as a computing practitioner
  3. Provide Quality & Qualifications framework for Computing practitioners
  4. Provide support for Continuing Practitioner Development
  5. Provide a platform for professional development and research
  6. Provide a framework for engagement with stakeholders and partners in ICT industry
  7. Provide a framework for contribution towards National Information Infrastructure.
  8. Ensure and enhance a Code of Conduct to guide practitioner behavior
  9. Deal with complaints against practitioners and implement disciplinary procedures
  10. Provide professional advisory on ICT related disputes
  11. Provide careers support and opportunities for students, graduates and people already working.
  12. The activities of the Association shall be conducted nationally; Establish and operationalize branch chapters for ease of governance.

Research, e-Waste management & Digital Innovations: Strive to strengthen policy, legal and regulatory framework for sustainable resourcing of e-waste management activities for effective protection of human health and environment in Kenya including support for requisite e-waste management infrastructure and rationalize its distribution alongside capacity building in area of digital innovations.
